Most Teachers Don’t Feel Confident Teaching or Structuring a Class Using  Student-Centered Math.*

What happens when they get the right professional development? Student engagement skyrockets. Test scores rise. Teaching feels meaningful again.**

This is the workshop that makes it happen.

This mini workshop is for you if...

✔️ You’re a K–8th grade math teacher or administrator who wants more support in student-centered math instruction.

✔️ You’re teaching student-centered math but have no idea how to manage or structure the first 6 weeks so students can take ownership of their learning and have success on end of year academic tests.

✔️ You’ve said or thought, “My students didn’t connect with the process of doing student-centered math and got frustrated.”

✔️You want to create a math classroom where students are excited, engaged, thinking critically, giving feedback, presenting, and getting out of their seats to learn.

YES THIS IS ME!
NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Shannon Olson

I'm a former elementary and middle school teacher that has also served as a math teacher leader, instructional coach, and district-level specialist across multiple districts in urban and rural Utah and Virginia. I've also served as a math specialist for the Utah State Board of Education.

Student-led math has always been a passion of mine, but for years I never felt like I could quite get it right. It wasn't until I became a district-level specialist that everything changed. It was during this time studying math and supporting other teachers that the core principles behind this course truly came to life—and I saw firsthand the powerful impact they had on both teachers and students.

As I witnessed these strategies transform classrooms across a wide range of settings, I became passionate about helping others do the same. My dedication to math education has led me to share my knowledge in roles such as university instructor, curriculum writer, national speaker, and currently as a consultant working with schools, districts, and state agencies across the United States. Now, I want to share my knowledge with you. Let's transform your math class, together!

I WANT TO LEARN WITH YOU!

Chelsie Gustafson, 5th Grade Teacher

“(Because of this workshop) this last year’s math class was both rewarding and full of meaningful growth. By the end of the year, I saw students grow not only in computational fluency, but also in their ability to explain, justify, and critique mathematical ideas.”

Molly Chew,  Instructional Coach

"Shannon’s course has been a fantastic resource! As an instructional coach, I’ve used it with K–6 teachers to strengthen math instruction. It’s engaging, grounded in research-based practices, and easy to apply. Highly recommend!"

 Joslyn Buhler, Kindergarten Teacher

"During Crafting the Ideal Math Class I was introduced to ways of teaching math (that were) engaging and relevant to the students. The things that I took away from the course will continue to be used in my classroom to make math meaningful and fun!"

When using the skills taught in Shannon's course, teacher's saw up to 100% engagement within their classroom and 90% of teachers felt confident in their math teaching.

During this free mini-workshop you’ll learn…

🟰How to craft your ideal, student-centered math classroom during the first 6 weeks of school (and no, it doesn’t require a boxed program)

🟰 How to have your students do the heavy lifting of talking, thinking and teaching—without letting go of rigor or results.
